On march 30, 2023, our beautiful daughter Doris was born. And her little brother is on it’s way. This means: more family time, more music, less visual art perhaps, for a while. I quitted tattooing too, for the moment. 💛

Together with my friend and amazing artist Maarten Slot I’ve worked on a sculpture to honor the SUN.

We made the sculpture with little design, creating in the moment. Build up out of oak, cloth and acrylics.

The sculpture is located at De Lievelinge, Vuren, NL

We made our first book! About the birds, living in the little forest, together with us. Chris Heijmans wrote beautiful an funny stories about them and I illustrated them.

..We’re making Radio!

At De Lievelinge we are now making Radio. Since we can’t do physical programming at the moment, we decided to build a Radio Station inside the - usually used as - bar. We are now live, daily from morning till evening, with a bunch of programms, like Radiyoga, Early birds, meditations, the news and weather, kidsradiolab, radio plays, live concerts, loads of good music and much much more.

And it turned out to be so much fun!

The end of the season at De Lievelinge…

We’ve been working hard the last month for the big event: ‘El Circo Provocativo’.. It was beautiful and intense.

Still in our little forest home, we hear the rain on the flat roof, we see the leaves falling down, we heat up the fireplace.. Autumn arrived.. Together with a bunch of colleagues, we’re making the campsite ready for winter; breaking everything down that won’t survive the cold and wet weather. We leave it to rest for a few months..

And we leave us to rest.. To reflect and regain energy, to look back and look forward. For now it means, also, more tattooing for me. ‘Unfortunately’ I’m almost fully booked ‘till the end of this year.

The season already started. Again I’ll be living, working, creating at De Lievelinge during spring and summer. To see what we’re doing there (a lot!), drop by :)

I ONLY take bookings for after summer (or a single spot in spring..) if the idea is super inspiring with a big prefence for: animals, faces, botanical tattoos, dotwork // OR if chosen from a design I already made (see my designs).

In December I’ll go to Sri Lanka for a few weeks, to work on a project together with designer Maarten Slot.

We will work in and around shelter-home for girls Avanthi Devi.
Together with the girls I will work on a big mural, while Maarten will work on a playground.

We are heading to the end of the summer season at Camping De Lievelinge.
All summer I’ve been living, creating, working here.

A lot of painting, (co-)creating, signing and building;
Setting up an artist-in-residence programm;
Creating programming every week, with my Lievelab colleagues, full of music, theatre, art and more.

We are in the last episode of the season: Producing the end-of-season-festival in October.

After this I will move back to Utrecht for a few months, working on tattoos and free work.

Season started again at Campsite De Lievelinge, Vuren, NL.
And again, I am living in the middle of it. Creating every day. For 6 months.

Working on a new commission.
For Stadsoase (Krachtstation, HIK) I design eleven totem-animals which I draw (two times each) on the walls in the building.

As skin and the human body were already seeking my attention for a long time, I lately started to literally work with this subject.
